Flying car - Transition Terrafugia to unviel at the New York auto show 2012

Finally after years of testing, ‘Transition’ the flying car will be unveiled at the 2012 New York International auto show (NYIAS) that will be held from 6-15 of April . The so called 'Transition Roadable Aircraft' developed by the Massachusettes based aerospace company- ‘Terrafugia’ may revolutionize the future automobile industry.

The Transition has wings which can be folded when on-road. It takes 30 seconds for the conversion from a car into a flying craft. On full tank, the car will be able to fly 460 miles at 110 miles/hour speed. The vehicle uses high-octane unleaded auto gas.



The vehicle has been provided with a full vehicle parachute in case of emergency and automotive crash safety features. The Transition can be driven through any road and parked like an ordinary car. Until now, about a hundred of the vehicle has been booked already.



The public will be able to make close views of the vehicle, watch demonstrations of wing folding, and meet the staff behind the development of Transition at the auto show. Terrafugia was founded by pilots and engineers from the Massachusettes Institute of Technology(MIT).
